ICON is redefining the built environment through robotics, software, and advanced materials. We are seeking a Director of Business Development to architect our expansion across Dallas-Fort Worth. This is a strategic role for someone who understands that ICON is not just bidding on jobs—it is shifting how the world builds.
You will serve as the primary market strategist, positioning ICON's proprietary robotic construction technology as the premier solution for visionary developers and institutional capital early in project development.
Key Responsibilities:
Market Intelligence & Asset Strategy: Identify and penetrate market segments (suburban housing, infill, retail, mixed-use, small commercial) that benefit from ICON's robotic speed, design freedom, and material durability. Lead the regional "Go/No-Go" process, vetting opportunities against ICON's technical capabilities and Minimum Viable Project criteria.
Executive Pipeline & Relationship Management: Cultivate a deep ecosystem of first-movers, including top-tier developers, private equity investors, and world-class architects/engineers who prioritize innovation. Own deals from initial visioning through signed contract, ensuring seamless transition to Pre-Construction and Project Management teams. Act as a subject matter expert on ICON's robotics systems, educating stakeholders on ROI, sustainability, and de-risking benefits.
Deal Structuring & Project Feasibility: Conduct high-level financial and technical feasibility assessments. Speak fluently with developers about pro-formas, construction cost metrics, and how ICON's speed-to-market impacts project returns. Lead negotiation of complex Design-Build agreements.
Regulatory Diplomacy & Brand Stewardship: Partner with ICON's regulatory teams and local Authorities Having Jurisdiction to navigate permitting hurdles. Collaborate with Marketing to differentiate ICON against traditional general contractors, highlighting ability to deliver architecturally complex, resilient structures.
Required Qualifications:
10+ years of high-performance experience in Business Development or Real Estate Development, with proven track record in Design-Build, General Contractor, or real estate developer environments. Deep understanding of Dallas-Fort Worth real estate fundamentals, including land use, regional construction costs, and the North Texas developer landscape. Technical literacy to navigate discussions regarding robotics, architecture, and advanced materials. A "Day One" rolodex of local developers, investors, and architectural influencers in Dallas-Fort Worth. Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, Finance, Real Estate, Construction Management, or related field (MBA or MRED preferred). Proficiency in leveraging AI tools (Claude, Gemini) to accelerate research, drafting, and analysis.
