ONI is seeking a Business Development Associate to drive sales of its breakthrough Nanoimager technology across the UK and Nordic region (Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark). You will work with leading researchers in academia, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology industries to identify opportunities, manage sales cycles, and close deals for high-value scientific capital equipment. In this role, you will report to the Global Director of Sales and own the full sales cycle for your territory, including lead generation, product demonstrations, and opportunity closure. Key responsibilities include: • Identifying and qualifying customers in academia, pharma, and biotech using tender portals, CRM tools, customer references, and other resources • Managing end-to-end sales cycles to meet and exceed territory targets • Maintaining accurate Salesforce records with prospect data, customer interactions, demonstration outcomes, and market feedback • Collaborating with leadership on annual sales strategy and revenue optimization • Serving as the voice of the customer internally, providing market insights to Marketing and Customer Success teams • Representing ONI at prospect and customer sites across the UK and Nordic countries (minimum 50% travel) You are an established life sciences salesperson with a proven track record of closing high-value deals. You understand the nuances of selling complex scientific equipment and can engage credibly with researchers while also negotiating commercially with procurement teams. Your scientific background gives you the credibility to understand customer workflows and research goals, and you're equally comfortable discussing pricing and capex procurement processes. The Nanoimager is typically classified as capital equipment with unit values of $150,000+, so you're accustomed to longer sales cycles and stakeholder management across multiple decision-makers. REQUIREMENTS: • BSc degree in life sciences or related discipline (essential) • Proven track record of successfully pitching and closing scientific capital equipment sales above $150,000 in value to life science customers • Consistent history of forecasting, meeting, and exceeding sales targets over multiple sales cycles • Experience monitoring tender portals to identify opportunities • Demonstrated ability to convert cold and warm leads into successful sales • On-site customer engagement experience in the life science industry • Ability to present scientifically-led solutions to academia and industry customers • Strong CRM skills, ideally Salesforce, with accurate forecasting capability • Excellent presentation skills and scientific communication (written and verbal) • Commercial acumen and understanding of capital equipment sales processes in life sciences • Willingness to travel at least 50% across UK, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Denmark DESIRABLE: • Hands-on experience with fluorescence microscopy for scientific investigations, including sample preparation and data analysis
