Skydio, the leading US autonomous drone company, is seeking an Aviation Regulatory Program Manager to join its Global Aviation Regulatory team. This role sits at the intersection of technology, regulation, and real-world deployment of autonomous systems, executing regulatory strategy to secure and sustain operational approvals for advanced drone operations in the U.S. and globally. You will develop, submit, and defend aviation regulatory operational approval requests, waivers, exemptions, and declarations that enable safe and scalable drone operations. You'll serve as a trusted resource for customers and partners pursuing advanced regulatory projects, translating emerging regulations into clear internal guidance and actionable plans. The role involves developing and maintaining scalable systems to track and oversee regulatory project implementation, supporting key product demonstrations and technical validation events in coordination with flight testing and solutions engineering teams. You will provide regulatory advice to customer support, product management, and engineering teams to ensure compliant, safe, and scalable use of Skydio's hardware and software products. As a point of contact with civil aviation authorities (FAA and global regulators), you'll represent Skydio in regulatory reviews, audits, and compliance discussions. You'll also contribute to standards development and represent Skydio in industry bodies and consensus forums. The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in aviation, engineering, public policy, or a related field (or equivalent experience). You have passion for aviation, autonomy, and creating solutions with real impact, with experience navigating regulatory frameworks for unmanned aircraft operations (U.S. and international experience is a plus). You demonstrate the ability to communicate complex technical and regulatory concepts clearly to both regulators and internal teams, with a history of cross-functional collaboration in fast-paced, high-growth environments. Strong ownership mentality, obsessive focus on customer success, and excellent written and oral communication skills are essential. Ability to travel to client sites and attend technical validation events, including internationally, is required.
