Formlabs is seeking a Field Service Technician to serve as the primary technical contact and face of the company in the DACH region and beyond. This role is responsible for the complete customer lifecycle experience on-site, with over 80% of time spent traveling to customer locations.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation & Customer Training (On-Site)
- Travel to customer sites to unpack, install, commission, and calibrate new 3D printing systems
- Conduct structured on-site training for new and existing customers, covering safe machine operation, software usage, and basic maintenance
- Perform live product demonstrations to build confidence in the technology and ensure customer teams are optimally prepared for deployment
Repair & Maintenance (On-Site)
- Respond quickly to customer machine downtime, frequently traveling on short notice to perform urgent repairs
- Plan and execute annual preventive maintenance visits, ensuring all warranty customers are serviced within the designated 90-day window
- Diagnose and resolve electromechanical issues with the goal of solving problems completely on the first visit, minimizing travel costs and downtime
Logistics & Documentation
- Execute a high volume of customer visits and service calls
- Independently organize complex travel logistics (flights, trains, hotels, rental cars) and submit travel expenses on time
- Carefully document installations, training sessions, and repairs in Salesforce

Requirements:
- Residence ideally in the Munich area (preferred due to excellent transportation connections)
- Willingness to travel over 80% of working time
- Strong technical background in electromechanics, hardware, or comparable field
- German and English language proficiency at C1 level, with ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and persuasively in both languages
- Valid driver's license required
Desirable Qualifications:
- French language skills
- Enthusiasm for 3D printing and emerging technologies
- Experience in fast-growing startup environments
