You will join the in-house studio team as an Associate Video Editor, turning raw footage into finished videos for YouTube, podcasts, social media, app content, and partner work. This role focuses specifically on Good Inside's podcast portfolio. You'll work closely with the Manager of Studio and Production and the Executive Producer of Podcasts to edit long-form and short-form content from rough cut to final, ensuring viewers stay engaged throughout.
Key responsibilities include:
- Editing long-form and short-form video with attention to pacing, structure, and viewer retention
- Handling audio mixing, color correction, captioning, and motion graphics
- Creating platform-specific versions for YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok from single shoots
- Ingesting, syncing, and managing dailies to keep footage organized
- Turning around notes quickly and cleanly
- Participating in performance reviews to understand how data shapes editorial decisions
- Building editorial judgment and story instinct through collaboration with experienced editors
This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days per week in the Midtown Manhattan office.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 2–5 years of editing experience, ideally for a creator, media brand, or digital-first channel
- A reel demonstrating range across long-form and short-form content
- Proficiency in industry-standard video and audio editing software (Adobe Premiere preferred)
- Growing story instinct: ability to identify what to keep, what to cut, and where energy drops; openness to feedback
- Experience cutting interview content
- Bonus: YouTube retention knowledge (hooks, chapters, viewer drop-off patterns) and thumbnail design skills
