The Associate Scientist/Scientist I will support the development, qualification, technology transfer, and routine execution of analytical methods for Dispatch's therapeutic candidates, including therapeutic viruses, viral vectors, and autologous CAR T cells. Reporting to the Senior Scientist I of Analytical & Product Sciences, this role focuses on building foundational and progressively expansive competency in experimental design and analytical development, with emphasis on cellular and immunological techniques such as co-culture cell-based assays, immuno-assays, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, and fluorescent imaging used to characterize viruses and cells.
Key responsibilities include contributing to development, optimization, and qualification of new analytical methods under senior guidance; building competency in experimental design with increasing independence; performing routine sample testing and executing established analytical methods to support release, stability, and characterization testing of CAR T cells and therapeutic viruses; providing analytical support to cross-functional teams; performing studies to support characterization of viral vectors; accurately recording data in electronic lab notebooks; assisting with troubleshooting and method transfer activities; communicating results clearly through data summaries and presentations; maintaining lab equipment and compliance with safety/quality requirements; and actively participating in seminars and professional development.
The role requires a Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of relevant laboratory experience, or a Master's degree in Biology, Immunology, Cell Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or related life science discipline with minimum 6 months of hands-on laboratory experience in academia or industry. Foundational knowledge of cell biology/immunology techniques and working knowledge of viral biology/virology are required. The candidate will work under guidance of senior-level scientists and progress toward greater independence in experimental design, data interpretation, and troubleshooting.
