GitLab is seeking an Associate Renewals Manager to join its Renewals team, which focuses on protecting and growing recurring revenue by managing the full contract lifecycle for subscription customers. This is an individual-contributor, tactical role reporting to a Manager of Renewals, focused on timely and accurate execution rather than strategic decision-making. You will manage an assigned portfolio of customer renewals, tracking key dates and driving them to on-time closure. Your responsibilities include having consultative conversations with customers throughout the renewal cycle to understand product usage and future direction, identifying and surfacing expansion opportunities (additional seats, tiers, or modules), and probing for new use cases and unmet needs within existing accounts. You will prepare and send renewal quotes, order forms, and related documentation accurately and on schedule, reflecting any expansion identified. You will analyze moderately complex renewal situations by reviewing account factors such as usage trends, contract terms, and pricing, escalating unusual items to senior team members or your manager. You will explain renewal terms and issues to customers and internal stakeholders to build alignment, collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, and Finance to identify expansion opportunities and resolve blockers, and maintain accurate records in the CRM/renewals system for forecasting and reporting. The role operates in an all-remote, asynchronous environment. You will work collaboratively with peer Renewals Managers and contribute to team goals. Solutions and outputs are reviewed by more senior team members and your direct manager. GitLab is the intelligent orchestration platform for DevSecOps, enabling organizations to increase developer productivity, improve operational efficiency, reduce security and compliance risk, and accelerate digital transformation. More than 50 million registered users and over 50% of the Fortune 100 trust GitLab. REQUIREMENTS: - Can execute basic renewal processes independently and has been introduced to more advanced scenarios such as multi-year deals, upsell-attached renewals, or non-standard terms - Developing understanding of GitLab's way of working, values, and high-performance culture - Awareness of GitLab's remote work best practices - Growth mindset and sense of ownership; proactively seeks ways to learn and improve - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; comfortable managing many renewals simultaneously - Clear written and verbal communication skills - Ability to follow defined processes and frameworks while flagging exceptions appropriately - Collaborative mindset and openness to feedback and coaching from senior teammates and manager - Ability to travel for events such as trainings, team offsites, and customer meetings
