Salary: USD 101,844 - 133,670 / annual
Oscar Health is seeking a Data Analytics Associate to join the Service Operations Data Analytics team. You will partner across the organization to identify and manage business inefficiencies proactively, supporting business units in scoping, analyzing, and monitoring key financial and utilization metrics. You will independently drive analytical requests, working with stakeholders to define questions, scope methodologies, and deliver results. You may present prepared analysis internally and externally.
Key responsibilities include owning insights generation for a major business unit, serving as the primary analytics contact for senior managers and associate directors. You will analyze data to support informed, data-driven decision-making, translating complex findings into clear narratives for non-technical colleagues. You will enhance operational and analytical dashboards as user needs evolve, identify opportunities to create models and tools that surface healthcare inefficiencies, and collaborate across the organization to identify and monitor improvement initiatives.
Required qualifications: 3+ years of technical work experience with analytical tools and report writing; 2+ years working with large datasets and distilling analyses into actionable insights; strong verbal and written communication skills demonstrated through 5+ examples of presenting analysis to leadership (Director level and above); 2+ years of SQL experience including filtering, aggregation, and CTEs; 2+ years building robust data models; 1+ years with Google Sheets or Excel (VLookup, nested if statements, connected sheets); 1+ years developing dashboards with Looker or similar BI/visualization tools.
Bonus qualifications include Python or R experience, 2+ years in healthcare or insurance, exposure to healthcare contract negotiations, risk adjustment, ACA marketplace, quality of care or population health, prior Member Relations or Customer Success experience, dbt data modeling, Looker Studio Pro, and Git workflows. You will report to the Manager, Data Analytics.
