Salary: USD 88,000 - 110,000 / annual
Anthro is seeking a hands-on Associate Manufacturing Engineer to support the design, improvement, and documentation of manufacturing processes and equipment on their cell pilot line. This role bridges development and production, working closely with operations and R&D teams to move new processes into repeatable, scalable manufacturing.
Key responsibilities include scoping and executing equipment modification and improvement projects from concept through installation and qualification. You will own the development and standardization of standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process recipes for assigned equipment and process steps. The role involves equipment installation, setup, commissioning, and troubleshooting, with accountability for root cause analysis and corrective action on equipment and process failures.
You will analyze process and production data to identify and implement improvements in throughput, yield, safety, and reliability. Support includes build campaigns on the floor, including run readiness, in-process monitoring, and post-run data review. Collaboration with operations, equipment, R&D, and quality teams is essential to define, implement, and validate process changes. You will interface with equipment vendors and integrators on specifications, spare parts, service, and technical issue resolution, while thoroughly documenting technical work and communicating results to the broader team.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering. You need 1–3 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, process, or equipment engineering (internship and co-op experience considered). Demonstrated hands-on process development, equipment troubleshooting, or automation experience in a production or pilot environment is essential. You should have a working understanding of mechanical systems, sensors, actuators, and process control concepts, with proficiency in CAD tools like SolidWorks or Fusion 360. Experience authoring and maintaining technical documentation (SOPs, work instructions, technical drawings) is required, along with comfort in mechanical fabrication, prototyping, and lab or production equipment setup. Strong data analysis skills using Excel, Python, JMP, or similar tools are needed. U.S. citizenship or existing work authorization is required.
Preferred experience includes lithium-ion cell manufacturing or other regulated/high-precision production environments, pneumatic/vacuum/fluid handling systems, automation/PLCs/HMIs, lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies, statistical process control, and experience with dry rooms or gloveboxes.
