Cloudflare is seeking an experienced privacy counsel to join its Office of the Data Protection Officer in London. Reporting to the Chief Privacy Officer, you will serve as a subject matter expert on data protection and AI regulations across EMEA, with particular focus on jurisdictions where Cloudflare operates (EU, UK, Switzerland, UAE).
Key responsibilities include: advising on existing and emerging AI and data protection regulations; managing cross-border data transfer compliance; collaborating with product lawyers on privacy-by-design policies; supporting the Data and Privacy Operations team on data subject requests, processing activity records, and privacy/AI impact assessments; conducting and approving vendor privacy reviews; supporting commercial transactions on data processing addendums; advising corporate legal on M&A due diligence and post-acquisition privacy integration; managing data protection implications of security incidents; and creating guidance playbooks for cross-functional teams.
You will work closely with non-lawyer privacy operations staff to implement and maintain Cloudflare's privacy and responsible AI programs. The role requires deep expertise in GDPR, EU AI Act, and global data protection frameworks, with the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical business guidance.
