Paraform is seeking an Associate General Counsel to serve as a key legal partner across the organization as it scales. This is a broad, hands-on role requiring a pragmatic, business-minded attorney who can navigate complex legal questions while enabling the business to move quickly.
Key responsibilities include:
Commercial: Draft, review, and negotiate customer, vendor, partnership, and other commercial agreements. Develop scalable contracting processes and templates to support rapid growth.
Product & Marketplace: Partner closely with Product and Operations teams on new features, marketplace policies, recruiter and customer relationships, and evolving legal and regulatory questions specific to the recruiting marketplace.
Employment: Advise the People team and company leadership on employment matters, including performance management, terminations, compensation, policies, and employee relations.
Corporate: Support financings, equity matters, corporate governance, board matters, and strategic transactions.
Privacy & Compliance: Help develop and maintain practical privacy, data protection, security, and broader compliance programs as the company scales.
Legal Operations: Build repeatable legal processes, templates, playbooks, and systems that allow the company to move faster without introducing unnecessary risk.
Business Partnership: Serve as a trusted advisor across the company, translating complex legal issues into clear recommendations and actionable business decisions.
Required qualifications include a JD from an accredited law school and active California bar membership. Candidates must have 5+ years of relevant legal experience advising technology or high-growth companies, with strong commercial experience in drafting and negotiating business agreements. The ideal candidate is a true legal generalist comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, with excellent business judgment and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred experience includes a combination of law firm and in-house roles at startups or high-growth tech companies, employment law expertise, experience advising marketplace or recruiting/staffing businesses, product counseling on privacy and AI matters, and experience building legal infrastructure.
