Genomics is a science-led TechBio company combining large-scale genetic and health data with proprietary analytics to accelerate drug discovery and advance predictive, preventative healthcare. The company operates two core business lines: Mystra, a SaaS data and analytics platform for drug discovery, and a technology-enabled consultancy business serving pharma and biotech.
As Associate Director/Director of Business Development, you will lead high-value, strategic new business development for both Mystra and the consultancy, engaging at senior and executive levels within pharmaceutical and biotech companies. This is a senior individual contributor role within a fast-moving commercial team, with significant influence over the company's trajectory.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning and driving the most significant new commercial opportunities across pharma and biotech, building multi-stakeholder relationships at senior and executive levels and leading complex, high-value sales cycles from initial conversation through contract close.
- Developing deep understanding of clients' long-term R&D and data strategies, positioning Mystra as an essential scientific partner rather than a vendor.
- Bringing sophisticated market intelligence about the life sciences landscape back into go-to-market strategy and influencing platform positioning and evolution.
- Setting high standards for pipeline discipline and forecasting, contributing to strategic reporting that informs senior decision-making.
- Serving as the voice of the customer internally, shaping how Product, Science, and Marketing teams think about the market and ensuring commercial approach is grounded in genuine value.
The role is hybrid-based out of the Research Triangle Park office but will focus on covering the West Coast market.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Substantial track record of senior-level SaaS, digital health, or enterprise technology sales into pharma or biotech, with demonstrable success closing complex, high-value deals.
- Deep experience engaging with R&D and research departments inside major pharmaceutical companies; ability to navigate senior scientific and commercial stakeholders with ease.
- Strong working knowledge of genetics or genomics sufficient to speak credibly and compellingly about what advanced genetic analytics can unlock for drug discovery.
- Strategic thinking about markets, clients, and positioning.
- Self-directed, senior operator who thrives in fast-paced scale-up environments.
- Degree in life sciences, business, or related field required; advanced degree is a genuine asset.
