The Data Science & Analytics team consists of 14 analytical professionals, many with consulting backgrounds (McKinsey, BCG, Bain), who drive insights across product, growth, tech, and operations. Each team member is embedded within a core business unit, acting as the analytical backbone for that function.
In this Associate Data Scientist role, you will be embedded in one of Jerry's key business areas—Growth Marketing, Product Development, AI & Automation, or Strategic Partnerships—and own the analytical function end-to-end for that unit.
Key responsibilities:
- Define the right problems: Understand business questions and decisions before diving into analysis; push back on flawed questions.
- Data and insights: Define metrics, build reports, run analyses, design experiments, and surface insights that move key metrics.
- Drive outcomes: Present findings and recommendations to product, growth, finance, and operations counterparts; influence decisions and drive execution.
You'll work with SQL (Clickhouse), Metabase, Python, Jupyter Hub, and GitHub. The role emphasizes hands-on execution, not pure strategy—you'll surface insights, drive decisions, and see them through end-to-end.
Required qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience at a consulting firm, investment bank, or high-growth tech company.
- Strong analytical skills; ability to pull, structure, and interpret data independently.
- Track record of owning ambiguous problems and delivering measurable impact.
- Clear, persuasive communication; ability to influence leadership-level decisions.
Ideal candidate:
- First-principles thinker who breaks ambiguous problems into clear hypotheses before touching data.
- Direct communicator who can walk skeptical stakeholders through complex findings and secure buy-in.
- Owner mentality; takes responsibility for fixing broken things, even outside your swim lane.
