Jerry.ai is a fintech platform that has transformed how customers manage their most important assets—cars and homes. Starting with car insurance in 2019, the company has grown to 5M+ customers, raised $240M+, and achieved profitability in early 2024. The company is now expanding into adjacent verticals (home, motorcycle, RV) with a goal to reach 50M customers and become a $10B business within four years.
The Data Science & Analytics team is composed of former McKinsey, BCG, and Bain consultants who drive insights and inform decision-making across product, growth, tech, and operations. As an Associate Data Scientist, you will be embedded within one of Jerry's core business units—Growth Marketing, Product Development, AI & Automation, or Strategic Partnerships—and own the analytical function end-to-end for that unit.
Key responsibilities include: defining the right business problems before analysis, building metrics and reports, running analyses and experiments, surfacing data insights, and driving outcomes by bringing recommendations to product, growth, finance, and operations counterparts. You will work hands-on, not in a pure strategy capacity, seeing analytical work through from insight to execution.
You should be a first-principles thinker who breaks ambiguous problems into clear hypotheses before touching data. You're analytically strong (comfortable with SQL or Python) and instinctively ask "what are we trying to solve?" before jumping to implementation. You're a direct communicator who can walk skeptical stakeholders through complex findings and secure buy-in. You act like an owner—if something is broken, you feel responsible for fixing it, even outside your swim lane.
Required qualifications: 1+ years of experience at a consulting firm, investment bank, or high-growth technology company; strong analytical skills with ability to pull, structure, and interpret data independently; track record of owning ambiguous problems and delivering impact; clear, persuasive communication skills to influence leadership-level decisions.
