Rhino is seeking an Associate Counsel to build and scale a best-in-class contracts and corporate governance function. Reporting to the General Counsel, you will be a high-impact individual contributor responsible for owning the full contract lifecycle—from intake and drafting through negotiation, execution, and obligation tracking. You'll develop and maintain reusable contract templates, playbooks, and standard positions to accelerate business velocity while maintaining legal rigor.
Key responsibilities span multiple domains: manage commercial, vendor, and service agreements alongside NDAs and data protection terms; maintain corporate records and entity governance including resolutions, consents, registered agent management, and annual filings; partner with the Compliance team on regulatory monitoring and data privacy requirements; advise Product teams on legal sufficiency of new features and marketing materials; provide practical legal support to consumer financial services and debt collection operations; and coordinate litigation matters and document management alongside outside counsel.
You'll work cross-functionally with teams across compliance, operations, and the business, serving as a trusted, approachable partner who makes it easy for colleagues to navigate legal requirements. This role offers deep expertise in commercial contracting and corporate governance while providing exposure to insurance, rental, and consumer financial services industries.
Required: J.D. and active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state. Approximately 2–3 years of legal experience spanning corporate governance, entity management, contract drafting, and exposure to debt collection or consumer financial services. Strong academic credentials and a business-minded approach to legal problem-solving are essential.
