Deliverect is an API-first commerce platform serving the food and retail industries with on and off-premise solutions. The Legal Department provides counsel, manages risk, and ensures global compliance across diverse jurisdictions.
As Associate Legal Counsel, you will be based in Madrid (hybrid: 3 days in office, 2 days remote) and partner with commercial, product, and corporate teams to drive global business growth. Your responsibilities span four main areas:
Commercial Agreements (50%): Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements including API agreements, terms of service, master service agreements, and reseller/referral agreements to support revenue growth across global markets.
Privacy & Compliance (15%): Lead GDPR and global privacy initiatives, draft and negotiate Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) with customers and partners, and ensure new business processes comply with evolving regulatory standards.
Strategic Transactions & Governance (5%): Manage legal frameworks and corporate governance for group entities, and support the General Counsel on M&A, investments, and funding rounds.
Product & Marketing Compliance (10%): Provide legal direction for product launches, review marketing communications for regulatory alignment, and de-risk go-to-market initiatives.
Legal Operations & Training (10%): Design scalable legal workflows and templates, deliver cross-functional training on marketing best practices, antitrust compliance, contract negotiation, and privacy law.
You will bring 6–8 years of in-house counsel or top-tier tech law firm experience. Strong expertise in GDPR and privacy law is essential; tech/B2B SaaS background is a plus. You excel at commercial negotiation, balancing legal risk with business objectives in fast-paced environments. Fluent English (written and verbal) is required; Spanish is a strong plus. You are proficient with Google Workspace and modern productivity tools, solution-oriented, creative under pressure, and skilled at cross-functional collaboration and internal training.
