Rho is a modern banking platform built for startups, offering accounts, cards, expense management, bill pay, and accounting in one connected platform. The Associate Compliance Officer will support the onboarding compliance team by owning day-to-day customer due diligence (CDD) and Know Your Business (KYB) work for new client onboarding. Key responsibilities include gathering and verifying client documentation (business formation documents, ownership structures, beneficial ownership information) in accordance with BSA/AML, OFAC, and FinCEN requirements. You'll perform risk assessments on potential clients using established frameworks, flag suspicious activity or compliance issues for escalation to senior staff, and coordinate with internal teams (sales, operations) to collect outstanding client information and ensure timely onboarding. Additional duties involve maintaining accurate and complete records of client onboarding files and compliance decisions, supporting periodic reviews of existing client accounts, assisting in compliance report preparation, and supporting updates to policies and procedures. You'll utilize compliance technology platforms to process onboarding tasks and maintain system accuracy, follow established policies while providing feedback on process improvements, and participate in compliance training to develop foundational knowledge of fintech and banking regulation. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or related field (preferred) and 1–2 years of experience in compliance, finance, banking, or related operations. You should have a working understanding of BSA/AML, OFAC, and FinCEN requirements, exceptional attention to detail, strong organization, and proactive problem-solving skills. Ability to manage a queue independently, prioritize across competing deadlines, and meet service levels is essential. Comfort with compliance technology platforms and quick system learning, plus clear written and verbal communication with good judgment on escalation, are required. This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits, onsite in Salt Lake City with a standard weekday schedule. Occasional flexibility may be needed to meet onboarding volume. The role offers opportunity for growth into senior compliance positions based on performance and business needs.
