Legora is an AI-native legal workspace used by 1,000+ customers globally, including top law firms like Cleary Gottlieb, Goodwin, and Linklaters. The company has scaled to $100M+ ARR and operates across Europe, North America, and APAC. The AI Transformation & Applied Research function studies how lawyers and legal teams adopt, trust, and build skill with AI tools, translating evidence into product, customer enablement, and go-to-market improvements. As an Associate Applied Researcher, you will design and execute mixed-methods studies measuring genuine capability growth versus surface-level usage among legal professionals. You'll own the full research lifecycle: designing studies, building survey instruments and interview protocols, analyzing usage and outcome data directly using Python and standard research tools, and translating findings into actionable recommendations for product, customer success, and leadership. Key responsibilities include: - Design mixed-methods studies on AI proficiency development in legal teams, distinguishing real capability growth from usage metrics - Build and validate surveys, interview protocols, and quantitative measures that hold up to scrutiny from stakeholders - Analyze usage and outcome data independently using Python and research tooling to identify adoption patterns across firms and practice areas - Translate research findings into concrete recommendations for product features, onboarding, and customer enablement - Communicate findings through reports, presentations, and dashboards informing leadership decisions - Help prioritize research questions, balancing depth on high-value questions against breadth across the customer base Ideal candidates have backgrounds in applied social science, HCI, organizational psychology, or related quantitative/qualitative methods disciplines. You should have solid mixed-methods skills (survey design, psychometrics, structured interviewing), hands-on Python and data analysis ability, and experience running applied research in large complex organizations or enterprise tech environments. Comfort with messy real-world adoption data, strong communication skills, and genuine interest in how AI is changing professional work are essential. Bonus qualifications include experimentation framework design (A/B testing), exposure to legal or professional services industries, direct customer partnership experience, published writing on adoption or human-AI collaboration, and comfort in smaller, faster-moving companies.
