Salary: USD 100,000 - 125,250 / annual
CircleCI's Analytics Engineering team applies software engineering rigor to data systems, designing architecture, governance, and tooling that enables teams across the company to access and act on high-quality data. As an Associate Analytics Engineer, you'll work alongside the Analytics Engineering team to bridge the gap between data platform engineers and the broader business.
You'll contribute to building and maintaining data models and pipelines that deliver well-defined, tested, and documented data to business users and downstream systems. Your responsibilities include contributing to data quality standards, model documentation, and column-level lineage across dbt projects; supporting the team in pushing data into business operating systems and AI-powered workflows; and learning best practices around source-of-truth models, metric definitions, and data grain under the guidance of senior engineers.
You'll use AI to automate analytics engineering processes, reduce toil, and build new capabilities for the data organization. You'll partner with data platform engineers to ensure pipelines and data models run reliably in production, and collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into governed, reusable data assets.
The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of experience as an analytics engineer, data analyst, or in a related technical role. You should have foundational SQL skills and some exposure to dbt or a modern data stack, with a strong desire to develop deep expertise in both. You're curious about using AI to move faster and automate processes, have some familiarity with Python and an eagerness to grow, and understand schema design and data pipeline concepts. You care about writing clear, unambiguous definitions and documentation for both human and AI consumers of data, and you're interested in understanding how data models serve real business decisions.
You must be located in the EST timezone (remote US EST or remote Ontario, Canada) and able to work Eastern Time hours to support on-call coverage for data systems. You're a problem-solver with curiosity and an entrepreneurial approach, able to translate between technical and business audiences with clarity, receptive to feedback, and a structured thinker who can balance learning fundamentals with near-term delivery.
