As Area Manager I, you will lead and develop a team of warehouse associates and operations leads to execute daily fulfillment goals in a high-volume distribution center. You'll work closely with HR, Safety, Customer Service, and other operations leaders to drive results and address operational and personnel issues. Key responsibilities include maintaining inventory accuracy and shrink control, implementing process improvements and workload efficiency mechanisms, utilizing workload planning tools to meet fulfillment standards, investigating discrepancies and variances, and performing quality checks across multiple warehouse functions.
You'll need 2-4 years of hands-on experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory systems in high-volume facilities, plus demonstrated leadership experience. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience is required. Essential skills include strong organizational and time management abilities, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency with material handling equipment (forklifts), basic clerical and data entry competency, and the ability to work independently under pressure with high workloads and deadlines. You must be flexible and willing to work overtime, including evenings and weekends as needed, and be comfortable in a distribution center environment with varying heights, temperatures, and noise levels.
Bonus qualifications include proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, a degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, Business Administration, or related field, and experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma or Kaizen.
