As Area Manager I, you will lead and develop a team of warehouse associates and operations leads to execute daily fulfillment goals and maintain inventory accuracy in a high-volume distribution center. You'll work cross-functionally with HR, Safety, Customer Service, and other operations leaders to drive results, address operational and personnel issues, and implement process improvements to enhance workload efficiency. Key responsibilities include managing warehouse bin accuracy, minimizing inventory shrink, utilizing the Order Management System and material handling equipment, investigating discrepancies, and ensuring orders meet quality standards.
You'll need 2-4 years of hands-on experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory systems in high-volume facilities, plus demonstrated leadership experience. A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent relevant experience) is required. Essential skills include strong organizational and time management abilities, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency with basic clerical and data entry tasks, and the ability to work independently under pressure with minimal supervision. You must be comfortable in a distribution center environment with varying temperatures, heights, and noise levels, and be flexible with occasional overtime and non-standard hours.
Bonus qualifications include proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, a degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, Business Administration, or related field, and experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma or Kaizen.
