Ascendis Pharma, a fast-growing global biopharmaceutical company, is seeking an APAC Regional Medical Affairs Associate Director to lead medical affairs strategy and operations across the Asia-Pacific region. This role is part of the International Markets division, a strategic initiative to expand Ascendis's global footprint in partnership with indirect affiliates across China, Japan, Australia, South Korea, and Southeast Asia.
You will report to the Head of International Medical Affairs and serve as the scientific and strategic leader for medical affairs across APAC. Working closely with medical directors in Hypoparathyroidism and Growth Disorders, the APAC commercial manager, and other internal teams, you will build and manage long-term relationships with key physicians, sites, and partners while ensuring the international markets medical perspective is reflected across the organization.
Key responsibilities include: designing and implementing medical strategies and tactical plans; serving as the scientific expert for medical affairs across APAC; supporting development of clinical and real-world evidence; overseeing compassionate use programs and grants; maintaining deep understanding of compliance in APAC markets; establishing and nurturing relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and key centers; staying current on competitive landscape and clinical trends; leading medical education programs for the APAC region in collaboration with therapeutic area leads; collaborating cross-functionally with medical, commercial, and business operations teams; managing relationships with external vendors and agencies; and providing mentorship and functional leadership to medical teams and stakeholders.

The company has locations in Denmark, Germany, the United States, the UK, Italy, Spain, and France.
The role is expected to be remote with a base in a large APAC hub (preference for Hong Kong, Singapore, or Malaysia), with approximately 25% travel and flexibility in work hours to accommodate global time zones.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Advanced degree (MD, PhD, or PharmD) in life sciences
- 7+ years of experience in medical affairs
- Substantial knowledge and experience in rare diseases
- Fluency in English and Mandarin (required)
- Demonstrated leadership and stakeholder management skills
