Affirm is seeking an Analytics Lead for Strategic Insights within Compliance Shared Services to own the compliance analytics and automated monitoring function for a multi-product, multi-partner consumer lending business. You will report to the Senior Manager, Compliance Programs and operate as a senior individual contributor, providing technical direction to a supporting data analyst while focusing on monitoring design, examination data ownership, exception judgment, and automation.
Key responsibilities include: designing and operating automated compliance monitoring by translating regulatory obligations into rule-based detective controls that produce audit-ready evidence; serving as the primary data owner for regulatory examinations, licensing audits, and bank partner exam requests; triaging monitoring exceptions and data anomalies to distinguish true compliance issues from data artifacts; mapping automated checks to specific regulatory requirements for the compliance control inventory; driving the automation roadmap to convert recurring manual reporting into automated pipelines; stewarding the compliance data environment and maintaining query repositories and documentation; providing day-to-day technical direction and quality review for a supporting analyst; and partnering with Engineering, Legal, Product, Internal Audit, and bank partners to resolve data questions and expand monitoring coverage.
The role requires fluency in both regulation and data, translating regulatory obligations into automated checks while translating data anomalies into clear regulatory answers. Outputs are consumed by state regulators, bank partners, auditors, and senior leadership with an evidence-grade quality bar. The operating rhythm combines steady weekly monitoring with high-intensity examination and incident surges on external timelines.
Required qualifications: 5+ years in compliance analytics, monitoring, surveillance, transaction testing, audit analytics, or comparable data roles in consumer lending, banking, fintech, or regulated industries; advanced SQL and hands-on experience with modern cloud data stacks (Snowflake, Databricks) including automated pipelines, dashboards, and data quality checks; working knowledge of consumer credit regulations (TILA/Reg Z, ECOA/Reg B, EFTA/Reg E, FCRA, SCRA, MLA, TCPA) and state lending requirements; bachelor's degree in a quantitative field or equivalent professional experience.
