Salary: CAD 203,680 - 254,600 / annual
Tailscale is seeking an Analytics Engineer to build scalable data infrastructure and models for a fully distributed, venture-backed secure networking platform. This is a hands-on role focused on transforming manual workflows into production-grade data solutions.
You will design and maintain clean, scalable dbt models (including ARR and revenue recognition), work across the full data pipeline from ingestion through transformation to visualization, and collaborate with Finance, Engineering, Sales, and product teams to understand data needs and deliver practical solutions.
Key responsibilities include diving into complex systems to understand tools and constraints, developing production-grade data models, taking a pragmatic approach to balancing quick fixes with long-term design, and supporting cross-functional stakeholders with timely insights.
Required qualifications: experience designing and maintaining production-grade data models and pipelines, deep understanding of modern data modeling principles, strong SQL skills with complex datasets, high attention to detail for data accuracy, flexibility in navigating manual tasks, passion for clean code and scalable architecture, strong time management and prioritization, and clear communication with technical and non-technical collaborators.
Nice-to-have experience includes high-growth PLG SaaS background, track record transforming ad hoc workflows into scalable pipelines, familiarity with billing systems and GAAP accounting, exposure to Stripe/Salesforce/Orb, and understanding of financial cycles and month/quarter-end iteration needs.
