Linear is seeking an Analytics Engineer to join its Data team, which supports Product, Engineering, and GTM functions across the company. The role involves building and maintaining data pipelines, dbt models, and dashboards that serve as trusted sources of truth for product, customer, and business metrics. Key responsibilities include: - Partnering with Product and GTM teams (Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Finance) to translate ambiguous business questions into actionable metrics, models, and analyses - Designing and maintaining dbt models and data pipelines in Snowflake, with a focus on clarity, testability, documentation, and performance - Building self-service dashboards and reporting in Metabase and Hex, and conducting deeper analysis when needed - Operationalizing data through reverse ETL and collaborating with GTM Engineering on scoring, segmentation, automations, and internal tools - Balancing pragmatic quick answers with durable, reusable solutions - Exploring emerging tools, LLMs, and coding agents to accelerate development and analysis while maintaining high standards for correctness Required qualifications: - 5+ years in analytics engineering, data analytics, or data engineering, preferably at a fast-moving software company - Expert-level SQL and hands-on experience with dbt and modern cloud data warehouses - Track record of owning data projects end-to-end, from problem definition to production deployment - Strong data modeling judgment regarding grain, reusable components, interfaces, and dependencies - Analytical judgment to know when to answer quickly versus investigate deeply - Ability to move fluidly between technical implementation and business context - High ownership mentality with pragmatism and willingness to challenge approaches - Strong communication skills for partnering with technical and non-technical stakeholders - Comfort using LLMs and coding agents in daily workflows Tech stack: Snowflake, dbt Cloud, Metabase, Hex, Hevo, Fivetran, Hubspot, Pocus, Clay.
