xAI is seeking an Analyst for its Law Enforcement Response Team within the Safety organization. The role focuses on managing global information requests from law enforcement and government agencies, ensuring accurate and timely processing while protecting user privacy and freedom of expression.
Key responsibilities include handling document intake, processing, and tracking of legal information requests with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness, initially focusing on EMEA casework. You will collaborate with Law Enforcement Response Team members across the U.S., EMEA, and Singapore to prioritize requests and maintain operational consistency. The role requires continuous process improvement to enhance efficiency in handling legal requests and participation in an on-call rotation to provide timely responses to emergency requests globally.
You will identify anomalies or unusual patterns in requests and escalate ambiguous policy issues as needed. Strong communication with teammates and cross-functional teams is essential to support team efficiency. The position demands consistent, high-quality work on repetitive tasks while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment, with ownership of projects from start to finish.
Required qualifications include fluency in written and spoken English, exceptional communication and writing skills, and working proficiency in Japanese (required for reviewing legal documents). You should have experience with user information requests, legal documents, or legal education. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment are essential. The role requires comfort with repetitive tasks, passion for protecting user privacy, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to navigate ambiguous policy escalations.
Preferred experience includes 1+ years in a Safety or Legal Operations role at a tech company, as a paralegal, or in litigation support. Familiarity with European LERT workflows and a Bachelor's degree are advantageous. The position requires availability to work weekends with schedules potentially including Tuesday–Saturday or Sunday–Thursday, with potential shift changes to as early as 6am or as late as 8pm with notice.
