GoFundMe is seeking an Analyst II, Regulatory Reporting to join its Trust & Safety team. This role focuses on anti-money laundering (AML) compliance and regulatory reporting, specifically the preparation and filing of Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) with financial regulators.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning the end-to-end preparation of STRs, from identifying potentially reportable activity through drafting clear, audit-ready narratives with supporting analysis
- Reviewing case files and escalations to determine whether activity meets STR filing thresholds, applying AML/CTF typologies and jurisdiction-specific regulatory guidance
- Analyzing transaction and user data to substantiate STR narratives with well-documented findings
- Tracking STR filing deadlines across jurisdictions and escalating time-sensitive cases to ensure regulatory compliance
- Partnering with Transaction Monitoring, Compliance, and Customer Due Diligence teams to gather evidence and confirm reportability determinations
- Maintaining accurate STR logs and filing metrics to support internal audit and regulatory examination readiness
- Providing quality feedback to peers on STR narrative writing and reportability assessments
- Staying current on evolving STR/SAR filing requirements and financial crime typologies
Required qualifications:
- 2-5 years of experience in regulatory/STR reporting, financial crime investigations, transaction monitoring, or compliance
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent supplemental work experience
- Strong proficiency in data analysis tools (Looker, SQL, Excel) and transaction monitoring or case management systems
- Working knowledge of AML, KYC, and sanctions regulations
- Strong narrative writing skills to translate complex transaction data into regulator-ready filings
- Ability to synthesize complex data and regulatory guidance into sound, documented decisions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Fluency in English and one of: Spanish, French, German, or Italian
- Strong ethical standards and discretion with sensitive information
Preferred qualifications include CAMS certification, direct STR/SAR filing experience with FinCEN, familiarity with ML/AI fraud detection tools, and demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing regulatory deadlines.
