Key responsibilities include: investigating potentially suspicious transactions through monitoring alerts and escalations; screening individuals, entities, and transactions against OFAC, sanctions, PEP, and adverse media watchlists; responding to time-sensitive regulatory inquiries including FinCEN 314(a/b) requests and law enforcement queries; ensuring transaction monitoring alerts and investigations meet established deadlines and SLAs; supporting enhancements to transaction monitoring rules, policies, and risk frameworks; maintaining thorough audit trails and defensible documentation; identifying and escalating critical risks and compliance gaps; preparing clear SAR recommendations for management review and FinCEN filing; and partnering with internal stakeholders during risk assessments, audits, and regulatory engagements. You will collaborate with globally-distributed teams to implement and strengthen the firm's Financial Crimes program across CIP/KYC, AML, anti-fraud, and fraud monitoring initiatives. The role requires maintaining meaningful working-hour overlap with US Eastern Time and strong knowledge of regulatory developments, financial crime typologies, trading behaviors, and regulatory expectations applicable to Alpaca's business.
