More than 1,400 firms across nearly 60 countries use Addepar to manage and advise on nearly $9 trillion in assets. The Alternatives Data Operations team focuses on collecting, validating, and managing data on private funds, private companies, and other non-public investments. This data powers research projects on investment decision-making and delivers new research products (briefs, working papers, journal articles, models) to inform wealth managers and institutional investors on ways to improve investment performance. In this role, you will work UK hours (based in Edinburgh, with collaboration across the global team including Pune) to capture and update Alternatives data that powers innovations on Addepar's proprietary research platform. The platform aggregates over $9 trillion in assets into an analytical data store used by researchers at Addepar and prominent institutions like the London School of Economics. Key responsibilities include: - Investigating Alternative Investment attributes and researching investments in Addepar's global database, classifying by asset type, vintage, and strategy - Overseeing and managing operational workflows for Alternative data processing - Developing and maintaining process controls and metrics to ensure quality standards - Partnering with the Research team to implement and run data quality validations - Overseeing the security master and security classification processes - Independently managing and troubleshooting complex end-to-end data ingestion pipelines, resolving technical blockers in partnership with engineering teams - Proactively exploring and implementing AI-assisted developer tools to optimize repetitive workflows, streamline document parsing, and shorten validation cycles You bring prior experience in the financial investment/advisory industry with knowledge of capital markets, middle/back-office operations systems, and preferably experience with Alternatives (Private/Draw-down) Funds reporting statements and data. You are detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities, self-motivation, and excellent communication skills. Technical proficiency in SQL and Databricks (PySpark) is essential, along with hands-on experience navigating complex data architectures and validating high-volume datasets. Familiarity with modern AI developer tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) and alternative asset document literacy are valued. Experience with Excel, Google Suite, Jira/Confluence, Python, Bloomberg, Pitchbook, or other financial services systems is preferred.
