Salary: CHF 78,400 - 145,600 / annual
DTX Pharma, a Novartis Company, is seeking an AI/ML Scientist to join the Oncology Data Science team in Biomedical Research. This role sits at the intersection of oncology drug discovery, computational biology, AI/ML, and data engineering, focusing on AI-driven target and biomarker identification.
You will design, develop, and implement advanced machine learning algorithms and AI models to generate predictive insights from complex multi-modal datasets spanning pre-clinical, clinical, and real-world evidence. Key responsibilities include demonstrating the value of innovative AI techniques in drug target identification, biomolecular interaction modeling, and biomarker discovery. You will work with foundational models—including pre-trained, self-supervised, multi-purpose, and multi-modal models—to advance generative AI applications in drug discovery.
Collaboration is central: you'll work across cross-functional teams to develop and adopt best practices for ML-ready data, contribute to scientific publications, and present findings at internal and external scientific conferences.
Required qualifications include a Ph.D. in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Computational Biology, or a related field. You should have strong experience in generative AI, biomedical foundation models, geometric deep learning, multi-modal learning, or large-scale knowledge graphs. Excellent programming skills and proficiency in deep learning frameworks (PyTorch preferred) are essential, along with practical experience across the ML and LLM software stack—feature engineering, model development, deployment, and validation. Prior experience with omics data and familiarity with oncology drug development are highly valued.
You will communicate complex data insights to cross-functional teams and demonstrate strong research credentials through publications in top-tier ML/AI conferences or leading scientific journals.
