Aspire is a financial operating system for global founders, combining banking, software, and automation into a single platform. The company serves 50,000+ startups and growing businesses worldwide, backed by Y Combinator, Peak XV, and Lightspeed.
You will own product and technical problems end-to-end in a newly built next-generation backend architecture focused on Compliance, Fraud Detection and Prevention, and Security domains. This is a hybrid engineering-product role where you'll design and scale critical fintech capabilities with AI at the core.
Key responsibilities:
- Own products from concept through prototype to production
- Build AI-native products using LLMs, agents, and automation workflows
- Rapidly prototype solutions using modern AI tools (Cursor, GPT, etc.)
- Partner with product, operations, and engineering stakeholders to identify high-impact opportunities
- Build agentic workflows, copilots, internal tools, and AI-powered operational systems
- Define product direction while building (minimal PM handoffs)
- Improve systems through experimentation, feedback loops, and data-driven iteration
- Contribute to scalable backend systems and fintech infrastructure for global operations
Success metrics include shipping production-ready AI features in days (not weeks), using AI automation to reduce manual workflows significantly, acting as a force multiplier across teams, identifying and solving product gaps proactively, and delivering scalable systems supporting rapid global growth.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 6–10 years of proven software engineering experience
- Comfortable working in ambiguity and 0→1 environments
- Product intuition: ability to decide what to build, not just how
- Hands-on experience building with LLMs, RAG, agents, APIs
- Proficiency in at least one backend programming language (Golang, PHP, Python, Java, etc.)
- Ability to ship fast and iterate quickly
- Experience building real-world AI use cases (not just experiments)
- Demonstrated work: live projects, GitHub, or shipped systems
- Solid understanding of software architecture principles, distributed systems design patterns, and domain-driven design
- Strong focus on code quality and best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Nice to have:
- Built internal tools, copilots, or automation systems with real impact
- Experience with prompt engineering/evals, vector DBs, embeddings, workflow orchestration (LangChain, etc.)
- Domain expertise in Fintech and FinCrime
- Early-stage startup experience
