Notion is seeking an AI Product Counsel to join the Product and IP Legal team, reporting to the Head of Product and IP Legal. This role is central to Notion's mission of building an AI workspace that embeds intelligence across collaboration and productivity tools.
You will advise Notion's AI product development team on all aspects of AI functionality launches and partnerships. Key responsibilities include: accelerating AI partnerships by collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders on model reviews, procurement, and evaluation agreements; providing pragmatic, product-oriented legal counsel to help teams ship AI features responsibly while monitoring emerging AI regulations; supporting customer-facing AI questions by partnering with Sales, Privacy, Security, and Product teams; and providing product legal support across the business as needed.
By day 90, you will have built strong context on Notion AI's product surface, roadmap, and risk posture with trusted relationships across AI Product, Engineering, Privacy, Security, Procurement, and GTM. You will have shipped a practical AI contracting and model-review playbook that streamlines vendor deals and model launches. You will also be using AI tools in your own practice to draft redlines, summarize risk positions, and spot issues faster.
By the end of year one, you will have established a scalable AI legal operating model for vendor procurement, model approvals, product counseling, regulatory tracking, and customer-facing AI questions. You will be a go-to advisor for AI launches at Notion, translating fast-moving product, regulatory, and customer trust issues into clear recommendations and durable guardrails.
The role is based in San Francisco with hybrid work expectations (Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays in office). You will work closely with the Lead AI Product Counsel and cross-functional teams across the organization.
