Isar Aerospace is building Europe's next-generation launch company with a focus on speed, vertical integration, and execution. As the company scales manufacturing, launch operations, and engineering, data generation across ERP, PLM, MES, project management, finance, and operational systems is growing rapidly. This role is the founding member of Isar's AI & Data Platform capability—a hands-on individual contributor position with significant ownership and visibility.
You will design and build the foundations of Isar's data platform while delivering tangible outcomes: executive dashboards, governed datasets, data pipelines, AI-enabled workflows, and reusable platform capabilities. The role spans four key areas:
**Build the AI & Data Platform**: Design and implement the first generation of Isar's platform, develop data ingestion and transformation pipelines across business and operational domains, create structured data layers and semantic models, establish monitoring and operational standards, and help define long-term target architecture.
**Executive Analytics & Business Intelligence**: Build executive dashboards and management reporting, work closely with the CEO Office and stakeholders to define KPIs and source-of-record principles, translate leadership questions into trusted datasets and actionable insights, and improve observability across launch, manufacturing, commercial, finance, and people domains.
**AI Enablement**: Evaluate and implement practical AI use cases with measurable business value, support rollout of AI-enabled workflows and automation, contribute to an AI-first data and technology landscape, and help establish responsible governance for AI capabilities and datasets.
**Data Governance & Ownership**: Partner with data owners across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, Quality, and Launch Operations to define ownership, quality standards, business definitions, and governance processes. Improve traceability from executive metrics to underlying systems and contribute to master data and semantic-layer standards.
**Strategic Growth**: Act as a founding member of the future AI & Data Platform team, identify capability gaps and tooling needs, help shape the operating model, and mentor future team members as the capability expands.
Required qualifications include strong hands-on experience building data platforms, analytics solutions, or data engineering capabilities; proven experience with modern cloud data architectures, data warehouses, lakehouses, or analytics platforms; experience designing data pipelines, ingestion processes, and semantic models; strong business intelligence experience with tools like Power BI; practical understanding of data governance, KPI ownership, and data quality management; experience working with business stakeholders and executive audiences; strong engineering mindset; and fluent English. Bonus skills include experience with Data Platform and Warehouse ecosystems.
