Oath is building the next generation audit firm using AI, and this role bridges deep audit expertise with cutting-edge AI product development. You will be a player-manager: executing audit procedures hands-on while collaborating with product and engineering teams to shape the AI platform that powers modern audit work.
You will perform and manage audit procedures directly, including planning, execution, and documentation of financial statement audits. You will review and validate AI-generated audit procedures, workpapers, and documentation, identifying gaps, errors, inconsistencies, and edge cases. A key responsibility is developing quality review frameworks, checklists, and methodologies for AI-assisted audits, ensuring all outputs comply with professional standards (GAAS, PCAOB, IAASB).
You will translate hands-on audit experience into concrete feedback that shapes product decisions and AI workflows. This includes collaborating closely with engineering and product teams to improve AI accuracy, reliability, and audit-awareness. You will establish continuous feedback loops that improve AI performance over time and document best practices to build internal knowledge bases.
Client-facing responsibilities include engaging directly with clients on audit methodology questions, interpreting AI-generated content, managing client relationships and deadlines, and coordinating across internal and client teams to ensure audit deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
As an early startup employee, you will be asked to tackle diverse tasks—client calls, QA, research, workpaper review—to ensure smooth execution. This is not a traditional audit grind; you will simultaneously execute audit work and improve the systems that automate it.
Required: 5–7 years of audit experience with strong foundation in audit methodology, deep familiarity with audit procedures and workpaper documentation, comfort executing audit work hands-on and evaluating systems, strong analytical skills and attention to detail, comfort with technology and AI tools, excellent written communication, and active CPA, CA, or equivalent certification.
Preferred: prior experience using AI tools for audit/analytical work, clear opinions on inefficiencies in traditional audit, experience designing processes/templates/checklists, startup or fast-paced environment experience, and experience outside traditional audit environments.
