LightTable is an AI-powered construction document review platform for preconstruction teams, recently named one of Fast Company's Next Big Things in Tech for 2026. The company automates cross-document conflict detection across complex, multi-party workflows in data center and large commercial project design and construction. Following a Series A led by Innovation Endeavors, LightTable is in active enterprise deployments with major general contractors and data center builders.
As an AEC Specialist, you will leverage deep architecture, engineering, and construction expertise to uncover customer problems, shape solutions, and translate technical capabilities into measurable construction value. You will work alongside Sales and Engagement teams from initial discovery through proof of concept, pilot implementation, and ongoing customer engagement.
Key responsibilities include: leading the AEC side of new customer pursuits and running deep-dive technical readiness discussions with prospective customers' project teams; shaping proof-of-concept and pilot strategy alongside Account Executives and Engagement Managers; owning backtests end-to-end, validating findings against actual project outcomes, and presenting results in terms practitioners and economic buyers understand; leading pilot delivery across 3–5 live projects as the primary connection to end users, delivering training and integrating LightTable into existing workflows; leading implementation support and enterprise engagement, turning pilot tuning into firm standards and scalable templates; serving as the primary conduit between Sales, Engagement, and Product teams, logging product gaps and carrying practitioner feedback to engineering; and owning findings quality on your accounts.
You will report to the VP of AEC and sit on the Go-to-Market team alongside Account Executives, Engagement Managers, and Customer Support, with close ties to Product and Engineering. Success in the first six months will be measured by credibility with practitioners, delivery of high-quality backtests with low false-positive noise, pilot conversion support, broad pilot team engagement and adoption, strong training quality, successful enterprise conversions, actionable product feedback, and on-time, quality project delivery through implementation.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in architecture, engineering, or with a general contractor, owner/developer, or owner's representative on large commercial, mission-critical, or data center projects
- Hands-on experience running construction document reviews and coordinating across disciplines; demonstrated ability to identify real issues and understand the cost of false positives
- Understanding of broader development processes from multiple stakeholder perspectives, not limited to one viewpoint
- Ability to train practitioners, facilitate groups, and change how teams work—not just demo a product
- Strong communication skills: translate technical findings into clear business value; comfortable presenting to both practitioners and executives; adapt messaging to audience; respond constructively to skepticism
- Exceptional listening and questioning skills; ability to lead customer discovery and uncover root problems
- Comfort with emerging technologies, particularly AI, and ability to bridge traditional AEC workflows with new tools
NICE TO HAVE:
- Professional licensure (RA, PE) or equivalent industry credentials
- Data center or hyperscaler project experience, including MEP-heavy and OFCI-driven coordination
- Prior experience in pre-sales, solutions engineering, implementation, or training at a construction technology company
- Fluency with tools project teams use (Bluebeam, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud)
- Curiosity and empathy for stakeholder incentives across the development process
