Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with deep expertise in air vehicle software systems to support the development of a Group 5 autonomous aircraft program. This role sits within the systems engineering team and requires someone with proven experience across the full lifecycle of unmanned aerial systems (UAS), particularly in aircraft systems architecture and software integration. You will shape customer needs into air vehicle and subsystem software requirements while collaborating across multidisciplinary teams including software engineering, system safety, and program management. Key responsibilities include developing comprehensive systems engineering artifacts—system models, operational and system viewpoints, activity diagrams, use case diagrams, block definition diagrams, and parametric diagrams—that trace stakeholder inputs through design in a digital thread. You'll support airworthiness certification efforts and communicate program risks in conjunction with the Chief Engineer and Program Management. Required qualifications include a B.S. in aerospace, mechanical, computer science, or related engineering field, plus 5+ years of engineering experience across the UAS lifecycle with specific focus on aircraft systems. You must have hands-on familiarity with military and aerospace standards including MIL-HDBK-516C, MIL-STD-882E, ARP-4761, ARP-4754A, DO-178C, DO-254, and MIL-STD-881. Experience developing subsystem software requirements, interfaces, mission systems, and contingency management software architecture is essential. You should have worked on mature aircraft development programs including operational testing and airworthiness certification, with demonstrated proficiency in SysML, DoDAF, UAFP, or similar modeling frameworks. Preferred qualifications include experience with Cameo MagicDraw or similar systems engineering software, digital engineering workflows, integrated modeling environments like Teamwork Cloud, and the ability to obtain a U.S. Top Secret security clearance. An active U.S. Secret security clearance is required at hire. This is a full-time position offering competitive salary, equity grants, and comprehensive benefits.
