Salary: GBP 36,000 - 39,000 / annual
Renaissance is a global leader in education technology, supporting over 18 million students across 100+ countries. The Admissions Testing (AT) department develops selection tests (11+) for over 200 grammar, independent, and fair-banding schools in England and Northern Ireland, producing approximately 35 new tests annually.
As an Assessment Developer, you will play a central role in creating and refining high-quality admissions test content. Your responsibilities include identifying gaps in the question bank through data analysis, collaborating with item writers to conceptualize and develop innovative question types, and crafting clear briefs and guidelines for freelance writers and creative contractors.
You will conduct rigorous quality assurance checks on new questions to ensure fairness, accuracy, and engagement, then perform comprehensive quality assurance on live tests including construction and end-user validation. The role involves monitoring and refreshing the question bank to maintain relevance and quality, partnering with schools to trial new content and gather insights, and managing relationships with freelance contractors including writers, illustrators, and curriculum experts.
You'll support ISO 9001 quality standards through meticulous documentation and contribute to a mission-driven organization committed to educational excellence. The position requires strong stakeholder management, exceptional attention to detail, and a passion for education. You'll balance competing priorities, work to tight deadlines, and maintain clear communication across teams.
