Northwood Space is a modern space infrastructure company building a global network of phased array ground stations for satellite communications supporting national security, global connectivity, and disaster response. The Senior Accounting Manager will lead the scaling of accounting operations and financial infrastructure during a critical growth phase.
Key responsibilities span general ledger management, financial controls design, and accounting system optimization. The role oversees month-end close processes, ensures US GAAP compliance, and manages the transition of accounting workflows in-house with robust financial software implementation. You will coordinate with international bookkeepers, prepare audit workpapers, and drive cost accounting initiatives in collaboration with production, supply chain, and engineering teams.
Accounts Payable and Procurement Operations responsibilities include end-to-end AP processes (invoice validation, PO matching, coding), payment authorization, vendor dispute resolution, corporate credit card administration, and cash commitment analysis.
Accounts Receivable and Revenue Management duties encompass customer invoice generation aligned with contracts and milestones, collection activities, AR aging analysis, cash flow forecasting, and partnership with business development and legal on contract terms and ASC 606 revenue recognition. You will own the monthly cash management cycle, including cash positioning, forecasting, and senior leadership reporting.
The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of progressive corporate accounting experience in fast-paced, inventory-driven hardware or manufacturing environments. Strong expertise in US GAAP, multi-entity reporting, ASC 606, and internal controls frameworks is essential. Proficiency with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and hands-on operational excellence are required. CPA or CMA designation is preferred, as is prior aerospace, satellite, telecommunications, or defense sector experience. SQL or advanced data analysis skills for custom reporting are a plus.
