Glydways is reimagining public transit with a groundbreaking network of carbon-neutral, autonomous vehicles on dedicated roadways. The company is building a 24/7 on-demand mobility system designed to be high-capacity, affordable, and environmentally sustainable. As Accounting Manager, you will own the monthly and quarterly close process end-to-end, including close calendars, task assignments, and timelines. You'll prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analyses prepared by the accounting team. You are responsible for maintaining supporting schedules and documentation to audit-ready standards, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, and developing written accounting policies as the company scales. You will manage, mentor, and develop staff and senior accountants, setting priorities and workload allocation through the close cycle. You'll review team deliverables for accuracy and completeness, and participate in hiring and onboarding as the accounting function grows. This role includes significant technical accounting responsibilities: owning ASC 606 revenue recognition (contract review, technical conclusions), overseeing contract and project accounting schedules, managing percentage-of-completion and cost-to-cost analyses, and owning ASC 718 stock-based compensation accounting and related disclosures. You'll maintain equity schedules, review cap table changes, and support audit processes. This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced startup environment. You'll report to the Controller and be responsible for the accuracy and integrity of financial records across U.S. and international entities. The ideal candidate is comfortable reviewing and preparing work, thrives in startup dynamics, and has the technical depth to research and resolve complex accounting questions independently.
