The Accounting Manager will lead the day-to-day accounting function and partner closely with Operations/Supply Chain and Revenue Operations teams. Initially reporting to the SVP of Operations, this role will transition to report to the CFO once hired. Key responsibilities include maintaining accurate financial records, leading monthly close and financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, and building scalable accounting processes to support growth.
The role requires deep partnership with Operations/Supply Chain on inventory accounting, COGS, landed costs, manufacturing costs, and variance analysis for the hardware business. You'll also collaborate with Revenue Operations on accounts receivable, customer billing, collections, revenue recognition, and order-to-cash processes. You'll own the end-to-end accounting function including general ledger, month-end/year-end close, financial reporting, accounts payable/receivable, payroll accounting, inventory, and fixed assets.
Additional responsibilities include preparing and analyzing monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow), applying ASC 606 revenue recognition principles, researching and implementing accounting treatment for complex transactions, establishing and improving internal controls and close processes per GAAP, identifying opportunities to leverage AI and automation for process improvement, managing fixed asset accounting, supporting cash flow forecasting and budgeting, coordinating with external auditors and tax advisors, ensuring compliance with sales tax and multi-state filings, and supervising accounting staff as the team grows.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone highly responsive, operating with urgency, and thriving in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate works independently, builds and continuously improves processes, balances strong accounting fundamentals with practical realities of a growing physical product business, and maintains high accuracy and attention to detail.
