Salary: USD 220,000 - 270,000 / annual
Anthropic is seeking an Accounting Analytics & BI Engineer to build the data foundation and analytics capabilities that power the company's Accounting organization. In this foundational, hands-on role, you'll establish durable, scalable systems that support a fast-growing function, bringing rigor and excellence to a team still being built from the ground up.
You'll partner closely with the Accounting organization to design and maintain data models and orchestration pipelines (dbt, Airflow) that power analytics, reporting, and downstream financial workflows. You'll develop dashboards, visualizations, and data applications that give stakeholders self-serve access to their data, translating business questions into well-defined metrics and actionable insights.
Key responsibilities include building analytics that support financial reporting, the close process, reconciliations, and scenario analysis; defining the future of AI-powered accounting automation in partnership with stakeholders to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort; and championing data quality, testing, and documentation across the data stack.
You'll take projects end-to-end, from ambiguous questions to trusted, scalable systems. Your work will be critical to ensuring accurate financial reporting, streamlining accounting processes, and supporting financial operations as Anthropic deploys safe, frontier AI at scale.
Required qualifications include proficiency in SQL and Python (or another object-oriented language), experience with data modeling and orchestration tools (dbt, Airflow), experience with BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Hex, Streamlit), ability to design self-serve analytics for non-technical stakeholders, and a track record of partnering with Finance or Accounting teams to drive business outcomes.
Preferred qualifications include experience using AI to improve analytical processes, building data applications, working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), modeling financial impact and scenario analysis, bias for action in ambiguity, and passion for Anthropic's mission of building safe, beneficial AI.
