Swarm Aero is building autonomous swarming UAV systems and command-and-control software for defense applications. The company is Series A-funded and moving rapidly to scale hardware production and deploy advanced aerospace technology.
This is a hands-on accounting role for someone who has run month-end closes and AP operations at a fast-moving company and wants to own the full accounting function. You'll manage day-to-day accounting operations including month-end close (journal entries, accruals, reconciliations), AP processing end-to-end (invoice intake, coding, approvals, vendor payments), corporate credit card and expense reporting administration, general ledger maintenance, and monthly bank/credit card/balance sheet reconciliations. As the company scales hardware production, you'll support inventory and fixed asset accounting, including work-in-process and cost-of-goods-sold tracking. You'll also assist with audit preparation, tax filings, compliance, and help document and improve accounting processes and internal controls.
Required qualifications: 5+ years of accounting experience including full-cycle month-end close, Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, hands-on AP and reconciliation experience, strong GAAP knowledge, proficiency with accounting systems (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) and Excel, and a track record of accurate work under deadline pressure.
Strongly preferred: venture-backed startup or high-growth company experience, inventory/fixed asset/manufacturing accounting exposure, external audit support experience, or aerospace/defense industry background.
Nice to have: CPA or CPA in progress, government contracting compliance knowledge (DCAA, FAR), system implementation/migration experience, or process documentation building from scratch.
Compensation includes meaningful equity in a high-growth defense tech company, competitive base salary, medical/dental/vision/401k, PTO and paid sick leave, monthly wellness stipend, daily catered lunch, and paid parental leave.
