Salary: CAD 65,600 - 80,200 / annual
Perception Point is seeking an experienced Accountant to join its accounting team supporting general accounting operations in Canada. Reporting to the Controller, you will work alongside the Accounting Manager and GL Accounting Team to manage day-to-day accounting activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain financial records and general ledger accounts in Oracle ERP, ensuring accurate recording of transactions with appropriate documentation
- Prepare and post journal entries for accruals, prepaid expenses, reclassifications, cash transactions, and month-end adjustments in accordance with company policies
- Perform monthly reconciliations of assigned balance sheet and general ledger accounts, investigate discrepancies, and prepare correcting entries
- Maintain prepaid expense schedules, calculate monthly amortization, and prepare reclassification entries for month-end close
- Review open purchase orders and project-related expenditures, analyze transaction details and billing status, and prepare accrual or prepaid adjustments
- Manage cash and corporate AMEX card accounting, including transaction review, expense coding, and journal entry preparation
- Prepare accounting schedules and supporting reports for month-end, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting
- Review GST/PST-related accounting records to support tax reporting, compliance, and audit requests
- Assist with internal and external audit activities by providing records, reconciliations, and supporting documentation
- Support fixed asset accounting and OPEX cost allocation
- Support new vendor account setup and procurement activities
- Participate in monthly OPEX funding request preparation
- Handle ad-hoc accounting, purchasing, administrative, and project tasks as assigned
Requirements:
- 3+ years of accounting and administrative experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly motivated self-starter capable of independent work and team collaboration
- University degree preferred
- Work experience with large enterprise ERP systems (Oracle, SAP) is an asset
- Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office applications
