Celonis is seeking a specialized Account Executive to lead sales efforts into the German public sector, specifically targeting police authorities at federal and state levels. This is a unique opportunity for someone with first-hand experience working within German police organizations to transition into a commercial, customer-facing role.
The Role:
You will build and own relationships with police authorities including Bundespolizei, Bundeskriminalamt (BKA), Landeskriminalämter (LKA), and Landespolizeien, as well as Interior Ministries. Working closely with the Public Sector team, Value Engineers, and product experts, you will translate operational police challenges into compelling use cases for Celonis's Metropolis solution—a platform designed to help police connect and analyze data so officers can focus on investigations and case resolution rather than administrative data work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build trusted relationships with police leadership, investigation units, IT, digitalization, and procurement decision-makers
- Translate investigators' daily challenges into concrete, AI-enabled use cases with measurable impact (e.g., time saved per case, faster case processing)
- Own an individual revenue target and drive complex, long sales cycles to successful close
- Navigate public procurement and tender processes (VSVgV, UVgO, framework agreements)
- Collaborate with consulting firms, system integrators, and public IT service providers
- Bring police insights back to Celonis product, marketing, and value engineering teams
- Represent Celonis at public sector events, conferences, and police-specific forums

Requirements:
- Several years of professional experience within German police (federal or state level), ideally in a leadership role and/or in areas close to investigations, criminal analysis, IT, digitalization, or organizational development
- Solid network within the police landscape and deep understanding of how police authorities and Interior Ministries are organized, how decisions are made, and how budgets are planned
- First-hand understanding of data challenges in police work (case management, evidence and data analysis, cross-agency information sharing)
- Strong interest in moving into a commercial, customer-facing role; prior sales, business development, or consulting experience is a plus but not required (onboarding support provided)
- Strong affinity for technology, data, and AI; ability to explain complex topics simply and convincingly
- Ability to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and engage effectively at leadership level
- Familiarity with public procurement processes is a strong plus
- Grit, hands-on mindset, and drive to build something new
- Excellent German communication and presentation skills (native or fluent); very good English
- Willingness and eligibility to undergo security clearance (Sicherheitsüberprüfung) if required by customers
- Ability to adapt to fast-moving, high-growth environment with positivity and growth mindset
