Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations Cloud, a platform enabling organizations dependent on physical operations to harness Internet of Things (IoT) data for actionable insights and operational improvements. The company serves industries representing over 40% of global GDP, including agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing.
In this dynamic Account Executive role, you will bring IoT solutions to mid-sized customers across the Midwest, building Samsara's business and delivering the benefits of sensor data. Typical sales range from $20,000 to $100,000 and involve proof-of-concepts, managing multiple stakeholders, running trials, multi-faceted pricing negotiations, and selling to executives and C-suite decision-makers.
You will be responsible for full-cycle sales activities including prospecting, discovery, solution design, negotiation, and closing. The role requires approximately 25% travel within the Midwest region. You'll work with customers in diverse industries—one day meeting with waste management companies, the next learning about food distribution operations—requiring curiosity about how different businesses operate and a commitment to understanding their unique challenges.
Samsara's sales process is complex and requires continuous learning about industries and business models you may not have encountered before. Success depends on building genuine, trust-based relationships with customers who have historically relied on manual, pen-and-paper solutions and are encountering advanced technology offerings for the first time.
The company emphasizes a high-performance sales culture with top performers earning above-market compensation. You'll be surrounded by strong sales talent and challenged to exceed previous performance levels. Samsara offers a flexible, employee-led remote model with professional development support, comprehensive health and parental leave plans, and equity participation in a high-growth public company.
