Grey, part of WPP's creative network, is seeking an Account Director to lead client relationships and drive campaign development across integrated marketing initiatives. You will manage a team of Account Managers, collaborate with creative, strategy, and production teams, and ensure delivery of "Famously Effective" advertising solutions for major global brands including Procter & Gamble, Volvo, Haleon, Circle K, and Coca-Cola.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with clients, understanding their business objectives, competitive landscapes, and target audiences in depth. Serve as primary strategic advisor for all advertising and marketing initiatives.
- Lead creative collaboration and project management, building project structures from the ground up and working closely with internal partners across creative, strategy, project management, and finance. Own strategic creative development and oversee production and post-production across all channels (TV/video, print, digital, social).
- Manage budgets and financial performance, creating detailed budgets and timelines in coordination with project management and finance teams. Monitor project profitability, forecast pipeline, and identify opportunities for organic growth. Manage Scopes of Work and investment decisions.
- Oversee content and production processes, including pre-production meetings, shoots, and post-production reviews. Maintain deep understanding of production workflows across disciplines and manage digital initiatives such as website builds, social campaigns, and microsites.
- Lead and develop junior Account team members, fostering a collaborative, innovative team environment. Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews.
The role reports directly to VP/SVP level and requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills. You will work across Grey's Hamburg and Düsseldorf offices as an integrated team.
Requirements:
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience in a creative agency, marketing department, product management, or similar environment.
- Proven experience executing integrated 360-degree campaigns including TV/video, content creation, digital, social media, and out-of-home advertising in omnichannel formats.
- Strong experience building client relationships that drive excellent creative work and organic growth. Prior collaboration with strategy teams on market research projects and implementation of insights.
- Proficiency in project and budget management, including detailed scheduling and complex budget oversight.
- Experience in people leadership, mentoring, and developing junior account professionals.
- Demonstrated passion for client business strategy and upstream thinking. High standards for creative output. Must be creative (lateral thinking), productive (execution-focused), collaborative (team-oriented), and adaptable to change.
