Kong is The AI Connectivity Company, building the connectivity layer for AI. The platform sits at the centre of how enterprises manage APIs, AI agents, and the infrastructure connecting them.
As a Commercial Outbound Account Development Representative (ADR), you will identify and qualify new business opportunities across the EMEA commercial segment, working closely with Sales and Marketing teams. This role is positioned as the front line of growth—the accounts you open today become the expansion stories of tomorrow.
Kong invests heavily in people development: a 4-week sales bootcamp, weekly 1-1 mentorship, continuous training, and a leadership team that actively works alongside you. The company positions this as an MBA-equivalent in sales.
First 90 Days:
- Month 1: Onboard with your team, complete bootcamp, and develop deep understanding of Kong's platform.
- Month 2: Begin outbound prospecting with confidence, master the sales tech stack (Nooks, Claude, Gemini, Sumble, Lusha, etc.), work your first live opportunity, and hit ramp quota.
- Month 3: Own your funnel, share what's working, and identify optimization opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and run outbound campaigns end-to-end, from conception to qualified meeting.
- Engage decision-makers across phone, email, LinkedIn, and video.
- Partner closely with Account Executives and Marketing as a connector, not just a top-of-funnel rep.
- Maintain clean Salesforce records and tight pipeline management; process discipline is valued.
- Leverage AI tools to boost productivity, work at pace, and personalize messaging.
- Invest in your own development with manager support.
Work Environment:
Hybrid from the central London office (near Bank Station and London Bridge), 2–3 days per week in-office. The company emphasizes a team culture built on integrity, energy, and purpose.
Requirements:
- Some experience in a customer-facing or sales role (internships, retail, or hospitality count if you can demonstrate rapport-building and outcome-driven results).
- Hunter mentality: proactive in finding leads, not waiting to be handed them.
- High coachability: you take feedback well, apply it quickly, and ask for more.
- Strong communication skills: clear and confident in writing and on calls.
- Genuine curiosity about technology; you don't need to be an engineer, but you want to understand Kong's platform and its significance.
- Fluency in German is essential.
