Salary: USD 100,000 - 120,000 / annual
Affirm is seeking an experienced Workplace Specialist II to oversee day-to-day operations of the San Francisco headquarters. This role focuses on delivering exceptional workplace experiences that support connection, productivity, and flexibility in a remote-first environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own day-to-day workplace operations for the San Francisco headquarters, including janitorial services, HVAC coordination, repairs and maintenance, office supplies, snack and beverage programs, and in-office events.
- Serve as the primary on-site contact for building management, reporting and tracking service requests, coordinating access and maintenance activity, and driving issues to timely resolution.
- Manage relationships with local workplace vendors, monitor service quality and performance, address gaps, and ensure services are delivered efficiently and within scope.
- Respond to and resolve Workplace Support Portal requests, keeping employees informed and identifying recurring issues or opportunities to improve the workplace experience.
- Partner with the Workplace Manager on office updates and improvements, ensuring work is completed on schedule and aligned with employee needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners including Physical Security, Internal Events, and IT to deliver coordinated workplace solutions and seamless on-site experiences.
- Support office activations, events, and programming that strengthen connection and culture, including planning, on-site logistics, and coordinating with internal and external partners.
- Maintain and reinforce local workplace policies, procedures, and resources, including the San Francisco Office Guide.
- Use employee feedback and operational observations to recommend practical improvements that enhance functionality and consistency.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in workplace, facilities, hospitality, office operations, or a related field, ideally in a fast-paced or hybrid/remote-first environment.
- Strong operational and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, follow through on commitments, and maintain high accuracy and responsiveness.
- Hospitality-oriented service mindset and demonstrated commitment to creating thoughtful, welcoming, and reliable employee experiences.
- Experience managing workplace vendors and holding partners accountable for service quality, scope, timelines, and issue resolution.
- Experience supporting office-related projects and collaborating with external partners such as general contractors, engineers, furniture installers, or third-party project managers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to distill information and communicate effectively with employees, vendors, and senior leaders.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and Slack; experience with Envoy, Notion, Zip, Canva, or similar workplace tools is a plus.
- Proactive and dependable approach, with sound judgment, comfort navigating ambiguity, and willingness to step in wherever needed.
- Must be based in the Bay Area, willing to commute, or willing to relocate prior to start date. Visa sponsorship is not available.
