Base Power Company is hiring its first Workplace Lead to professionalize and scale the workplace function as the company expands headcount and geographic footprint. This is a hands-on, foundational role managing workplace operations across all existing sites and launching new warehouse office sites across the US.
You will own the planning and execution of new office site launches while maintaining consistent, excellent experience across all Base locations. You'll manage current Workplace Associates at headquarters and existing facilities, hire and oversee part-time contracted support at seven warehouse sites, and help plan the office build-out for the next HQ and factory campus.
Key responsibilities include: owning workplace operations across all sites and planning new launches; traveling on-site for at least one week per new site launch (approximately one every 1-2 months); building and managing the growing Workplace team while maintaining lean staffing; leading space planning for fast-growing HQ and adjacent building expansions; owning vendor relationships and contracts including negotiation and renewal tracking; partnering with IT and Deployments on site buildout and ongoing improvements; setting standards and operating rhythm for a fully in-office culture; and representing the Workplace function in planning for Base's future campus (HQ and Factory) targeted for early 2028 completion.
You bring 8+ years of experience running workplace or operations for fast-growing startups with distributed footprints. You have demonstrated experience building and leading small teams from the front, strong project management and planning skills for physical operations, comfort working in low-structure environments while building processes from scratch, and good judgment on spend and priorities. You're willing to travel approximately one week per month. Experience supporting technical or industrial workplaces like manufacturing or logistics is a bonus.
