Atoms is building Physical AI—real-world robots for industries including food, mining, and transport. The company integrates hardware, software, AI, operations, manufacturing, and real estate to deploy and operate autonomous systems at scale. As Workers' Compensation Specialist, you will own Atoms' workers' compensation program end-to-end across multiple states. Because Atoms employs drivers and operations staff as W-2 team members, workers' compensation is a significant and people-critical exposure. You will manage claims from first report through resolution, drive injured team members back to health and work, and partner with People, Safety, and Operations to prevent injuries. Key responsibilities include: - Manage the full lifecycle of workers' compensation claims across all Atoms markets, from first notice of injury through resolution and closure - Serve as primary liaison to TPA, carrier(s), and defense counsel; monitor adjuster performance, reserves, and claim strategy - Own and administer return-to-work and modified/light-duty programs in partnership with People and Operations to reduce lost time and indemnity cost - Coordinate incident investigation with Safety, ensuring root-cause findings feed back into injury-prevention efforts - Ensure compliance with multi-state workers' compensation statutes and posting/reporting requirements (California and Texas in particular) - Maintain OSHA 300/300A logs and support all regulatory recordkeeping and injury reporting - Track and analyze claim trends, frequency/severity, and cost drivers; deliver regular reporting to leadership - Manage medical provider networks and support timely, appropriate care for injured team members - Provide loss and exposure data to support annual WC program renewals Success means injured team members feel supported and return to work safely and promptly, lost-time claims and total WC cost trend down relative to headcount growth, and full compliance across every market. The role is based in the Dallas office, requiring onsite work five days per week. REQUIREMENTS: - 4+ years of hands-on workers' compensation claims experience, ideally multi-state; California WC experience strongly preferred - Working knowledge of California and Texas workers' compensation statutes, benefit structures, and dispute processes - Experience managing TPAs, adjusters, and defense counsel, and holding them accountable to outcomes - Proven success building or running return-to-work / modified-duty programs - Strong organization, written communication, and comfort with a fast-moving, high-volume environment - Nice to have: professional designation (e.g., WCCP, ARM, CPCU coursework), RMIS experience, and exposure to a distributed/multi-site workforce
